Social Media

In July the Visit San Antonio Facebook and Instagram channels experienced audience growth while Twitter and Instagram saw a decrease in audience growth compared to last month. Overall engagement on Visit San Antonio social channels increased in July with Instagram and LinkedIn showing the strongest levels of engagement.

On the River Walk channels, both Facebook and Instagram saw an increase in followers and engagement of over 30%. Messaging in July was heavy on ticket sales for the upcoming Ford Holiday River Parade as tickets went on sale at the beginning of July.

Online Engagement

July was a strong month for online engagement (OLE), and we outperformed our monthly projection by 107%. Strong performances on Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and Twitter helped us outperform our monthly projection. Additionally, in July our leisure site experienced the highest volume of web sessions this year. Once again, our Things to Do, Attractions, and Event pages ranked as some of the top viewed pages for the month.

Tasting Texas and the Creative City of Gastronomy

As summer comes to an end, we are shifting our focus to our culinary pillar. Extended versions of our Real & True videos are complete, we are showcasing them throughout our website and YouTube channel. As you can imagine, we are very proud of our culinary heritage and welcome you to view the culinary video above. For a look at all extended versions of our Real & True video collection, click here.

Along with the promotion of our culinary scene, we are also spreading the word on the upcoming Tasting Texas Wine + Food Festival. As a part of a paid social campaign, a 15-second video on the major social channels will be served up, promoting Tasting Texas. We will continue to promote the festival organically on social channels and give the event prime real estate on the Visit San Antonio homepage in addition to paid efforts. Tickets for this event went on sale in July – be sure to purchase yours today.
