We recognize that this year has brought challenges for some in our industry, particularly during the hot summer season, but please know that Visit San Antonio is committed to finding solutions to keep our city and industry thriving. Together, we are working to ensure that San Antonio remains a sought-after destination that captivates visitors and fosters economic growth.

With an eye toward San Antonio’s future, we have developed Visit San Antonio’s first-ever long-term strategic growth plan, Visit San Antonio 2025-2030: Journey to Excellence. This plan was designed to propel our community forward and build on our successes for years to come.

2023 Economic Impact Report

During our Annual Meeting, we proudly unveiled the record-breaking 2023 Tourism & Hospitality Economic Impact Report, which showcased the incredible economic impact generated by hospitality and tourism for our city: $21.5 billion.

$21.5 Billion!

Every one of you, alongside our colleagues across every district of the city, helped contribute to this historic $21.5 billion impact.

This achievement also led to a historic $277 million in tax revenue generated through tourism and hospitality in 2023—a remarkable 11% increase over 2022. Most importantly, our area now has 147,000 hospitality employees, accounting for an impressive 10.5% of our city’s population.

Take a look at our economic impact card and full report linked below.

While $21.5 billion is an impressive figure, Visit San Antonio also broke down the trackable revenues our organization brought to the city, which were historic as well.

  • Destination Sales booked 752 total events and nearly 900,000 total room nights, producing $697 million in economic impact.

  • Marketing helped generate 1.5 million incremental trips to San Antonio, and Media Relations produced $32.5 million in earned media value, for a total of $732 million.

  • In all, Visit San Antonio achieved $1.4 billion in total economic impact.

We have highlighted these and additional Visit San Antonio-specific impact details in the card linked below.
