July was a good month for large, national media stories on San Antonio. The Alamo City was featured in stories from Food & Wine, Travel + Leisure, Conde Nast Traveler and AFAR covering our city’s best chefs, restaurants, cultural icons and hotels.
The peak summer month also featured the tickets on-sale for Tasting Texas Wine + Food Festival, flavored by the James Beard Foundation. Visit San Antonio’s partnership with Culinaria for the festival progresses as we inch closer to the October 27-30 festival. Tickets are going fast so be sure to get yours from TastingTexas.com before they sell out.
During the month we also welcomed the newest member of our team, Ja’Nise Solitaire. Ja’Nise joins us as the Communications Manager, overseeing local media relations, River Walk Communications and Visit San Antonio corporate communications. We are very excited to welcome her to the team with her generational family roots in the area, background as a TV producer and a diversity of media relations and strategic experiences.
The team was busy hosting additional media to help tell San Antonio’s many stories. Media included Thrillist, and Mexico’s Radio Formula, Air Femme and Viajeros TV.
Locally, Visit San Antonio promoted the July 4th Armed Forces River Parade, the healthy convention group attendance for Texas High School Coaches Association and the Tating Texas tickets launch. Additionally, president and CEO Marc Anderson was featured in an episode of KSAT-TV’s “Leading San Antonio.”
As the world slowly returns to a semblance of the pre-pandemic times, we aim for San Antonio to remain a destination-of-choice for millions of travelers each year. Please be sure to share with our Media Relations team what news you have for this fall travel season, as well as any news upcoming for later in the year and into 2023 so we can help amplify your message.
