San Antonio Springs to Life

Marketing for spring kicked off Jan. 1 and will continue through April. Website home page visuals display a springtime, family-fun tone. Messaging will be conveyed across multiple channels such as: digital advertising, including ads with video; content that is positioned as native content on TripAdvisor, Expedia, D magazine, Houstonia and Texas Monthly online; e-mail blasts, paid social media; print ads in Texas publications; radio; and a TV flight beginning in April. Persona allocation for Spring is 45 percent Urban Traveling Families, 35 percent History/Arts/Culture Travelers, 10 percent High Energy Educated Urbanites and 10 percent Foodies. The spring effort will generate more than an estimated 195 million impressions in the United States, Mexico and Canada.

TV Exposure in Mexico

In partnership with Brand USA, Visit San Antonio will have a TV campaign in Mexico for the first time. A total of 786, 30-second spots will run in target markets Monterrey, Mexico City, Queretaro and Guadalajara this spring. New spots are being developed for this initiative.

New Meetings Website Soon to Launch

A major effort in developing the new meetings website has been the integration of our new CRM, SimpleView, which is the database for partner information. Because the team is taking every precaution to ensure the accuracy of the data, the launch date for the new site will be revised. The new website is visually engaging, with striking images that showcase the destination and partners. Navigation is built to efficiently direct meeting planners to the information they need, and content has been updated and written to speak to the meeting professional.

Transforming Leaders

Visit San Antonio will again host its educational training series, “Transforming Leaders,” in Austin on Feb. 19. TSAE is partnering with us to market the half-day event to customers and prospective customers. Attendees will enjoy a professional development session followed by a networking lunch. The session will feature Ty Bennett, Founder of Leadership Inc. He will present the concepts in his book, The Power of Influence: Cultivating Change Through Empowered Leadership. The program has been submitted to the CIC for 2.5 hours of continuing education (CE) credit for the CMP credential and qualifies for 2.25 CAE hours.

VisitSanAntonio.TV

The Visit San Antonio/Atkins Group team has reviewed more than 100 entries for VisitSanAntonio.TV. The team is currently getting further information from potential candidates and narrowing down concept selections. If selected, a story idea will be developed into a four-episode show that will air on Visit San Antonio’s new channel VisitSanAntonio.TV. This new marketing initiative will provide another way for consumers to immerse themselves in the destination.

Spring Co-op Update

A number of co-op initiatives are in progress, including an integrated seasonal campaign, themed emails — one promoting San Antonio as a romantic destination and another targeted to meeting professionals — and several partner-exclusive projects. If you are interested in a co-op campaign, let us know. We would love to work with you. Sandysmith@visitsanantonio.com.
