On March 11, President Joe Biden signed into law the $1.9 trillion American Rescue Plan Act (H.R. 133). The American Rescue Plan provides $1,400 direct payments to individuals making up to $75,000 annually, $350 billion in aid to state and local governments and $14 billion for vaccine distribution. The bill provides $130 billion to elementary, middle and high schools to assist with safe reopening. The new plan also contains much needed relief for the travel and tourism industry. A summary of major provisions related to the travel and tourism industry is provided by the U.S. Travel Association. In addition, the USTA has provided information on the American Rescue Plan Act and the End of Year Omnibus Bill (from December 2020), including access to relief programs and offerings that will help the travel industry.
