Grant Funding Overview

The San Antonio Hospitality Foundation (SAHF) supports charitable organizations and programs aligned with the tax-exempt purposes of Visit San Antonio (VSA) through strategic philanthropic investment. In selecting grant recipients, SAHF will make its grant decisions on a non-discriminatory basis while adhering to its established conflict of interest policy.

 

SAHF supports charitable initiatives that:

  • Provide educational and scholarship opportunities,

  • Strengthen community quality of life through programs that align with cultural enrichment.

 

Giving Philosophy & Strategy

The Foundation’s grant-making is guided by three strategic pillars:

A. Workforce & Education

  • Scholarships for students in hospitality, tourism, and culinary arts.

  • Charitable training programs that create pathways for career advancement.

B. Industry & Destination Development

  • Cultural and tourism-related events that promote education and appreciation of local heritage and culture.

C. Community & Quality of Life

  • Investments in programs that benefit both visitors and residents.

  • Support for hospitality industry workers during times of crisis (e.g., disaster relief, emergency assistance).

Grant Eligibility

Eligible Applicants

  • 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations.

  • Accredited educational institutions.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated alignment with the SAHF mission.

  • Capacity to deliver measurable outcomes.

  • Willingness to comply with reporting and accountability standards.



Grant Application Process

SAHF maintains a structured grant application and review process to ensure fairness and alignment with Foundation priorities. Applicants are evaluated based on mission alignment, community impact, organizational capacity, and program sustainability.

All applicants must complete the required grant application forms and provide supporting documentation as outlined in the application guidelines. The SAHF Board meets quarterly to review submissions. We recommend you submit requests at least six months prior to the funding need date.
 

Grant Forms & Submission

Grant application forms and instructions are available below. Applicants are encouraged to review all materials carefully before submission to ensure completeness and compliance with Foundation requirements.

Incomplete submissions or submissions not submitted at least six months in advance may not be considered.
 

Accountability & Transparency

SAHF is committed to responsible stewardship of its resources. Grant recipients may be required to provide progress updates, financial reporting, or outcome evaluations to demonstrate the effective use of awarded funds.
