1. UNESCO World Heritage Center

Opening February 7, this new World Heritage Center serves as the gateway to Texas’ only UNESCO World Heritage Site, comprised of the iconic Alamo and the San Antonio Missions National Historical Park. Visitors can explore educational exhibits that celebrate the history, art, and culture of the surrounding community.
 

2. Mexico Ceaty Culinary Destination

Chef Jason Dady’s highly anticipated seventh dining concept, Mexico Ceaty, debuts in early 2025. Located along the iconic River Walk, this immersive 21,000-square-foot space features authentic eateries, a coffee shop, a live music stage, a marketplace, and more, honoring the culinary and cultural ties between San Antonio and Mexico.
 

3. San Pedro Creek Culture Park

This spring, the $300-million transformation of San Pedro Creek unveils a world-class linear park with bike trails, public art, and revitalized natural habitats. The park’s highlight is The St. James AME Culture Crossing, celebrating the historic post-Civil War-era Saint James African Methodist Episcopal Church, the first AME Church in San Antonio where Blacks worshiped autonomously and without restriction.

4. San Antonio Zoo’s Gorilla Habitat

Congo Falls opens later this year at the San Antonio Zoo as one of the largest gorilla habitats in the U.S., offering unparalleled views of its Western lowland gorillas from a 60-foot tower. The connecting, new Ralston Events Center atop a quarry wall adds a premier 600-person venue for hosting events with unique views of the zoo’s wildlife and downtown.
 

5. The Alamo Education Center

The Texas Cavaliers Education Center, opening in 2025, will host a STEAM Lab, a Lecture Hall, an Early Learners Hub, and more, catering to over 250,000 students annually. Situated in historic Alamo Hall, it enriches learning opportunities for young minds.
 

6. Villa Finale Visitor Center

The Villa Finale historic site introduces its new Visitor Center, designed by Michael Imber Architects. This one-story building on the grounds of the Italianate mansion offers reception and exhibit spaces, providing a welcoming gateway to the King William Historic District.
 

7. Gunter Hotel Renovations

The landmark Gunter Hotel unveils its stunning renovations in early 2025, along with new restaurant concepts that revive its blues music legacy. Now part of Marriott International’s Tribute portfolio, this iconic property blends modern elegance with historic charm.
 

8. San Antonio International Airport Expansion

San Antonio International Airport (SAT) is undergoing a significant transformation to accommodate growing passenger demand and enhance traveler experience. A major component of this expansion debuting in 2028 is the construction of Terminal C, which will add 17 new gates, expanded culinary offerings and modern amenities, making it larger than the current Terminals A and B combined. In 2025, a new ground transportation center opens in Terminal A joining an upgraded parking experience that streamlines access and improves convenience for travelers.
 

9. Morgan’s Wonderland Celebrates 15 Years

Morgan’s Wonderland, the world’s first ultra-accessible theme park, marks its 15th anniversary with the debut of Joy’s Happy Swing, a nine-seat wheelchair-accessible ride, ensuring fun for everyone.
 

10. Stay Among Wildlife at Spekboom Lodge

New in 2025, the Spekboom Lodge at the San Antonio Zoo offers an overnight adventure where guests can sleep near giraffes, zebras, and other African species for an unforgettable experience.
