SAN ANTONIO, TX (October 29, 2025)—San Antonio’s Dia de los Muertos weekend was a record-breaking success on the San Antonio River Walk as vibrant colors, rhythmic music and timeless traditions came alive. The 2025 Day of the Dead River Parade drew unprecedented crowds and ticket sales, cementing its place as one of the nation’s most unique cultural celebrations.
Visit San Antonio announced that 15,266 tickets were sold for this year’s Day of the Dead River Parade, a 19% increase from last year’s 12,807 tickets, marking the highest sales in the parade’s history. According to visitor data, the 2025 Day of the Dead River Parade, held on Friday, October 24, welcomed an estimated total attendance of 35,100.
“The Day of the Dead River Parade continues to showcase San Antonio’s deep cultural roots and its power to unite locals and visitors alike,” said Mario Bass, President & CEO of Visit San Antonio. “Each year, we see more people drawn to this one-of-a-kind celebration that honors life, memory and community.”
Building on the success of this year’s event, organizers have announced that tickets for the 2026 Day of the Dead River Parade are now on sale. Guests are encouraged to purchase early to secure premium seating for what promises to be another extraordinary evening on the River Walk.
The Day of the Dead River Parade celebrates San Antonio’s cultural heritage through art, music and community remembrance. The event features more than 20 decorated barges, each highlighting different aspects of Day of the Dead traditions, while inviting visitors to experience the beauty of honoring life along one of the world’s most iconic waterways. The River Parade is one of over two dozen Day of the Dead celebrations in San Antonio, making the Alamo City the home to the most Day of the Dead events in the country.
