SAN ANTONIO, TX (July 15, 2024) – Jason Dady Restaurant Group and Ashkenazy Acquisition Corporation, a private real estate investment firm owned by Ben Ashkenazy, are thrilled to announce Mexico Ceaty, an immersive dining, entertainment and shopping experience that honors the culinary history and culture of both Mexico and San Antonio, set to open inside the Shops at Rivercenter on San Antonio’s famous River Walk.

Slated to debut in early 2025, the 21,000-square-foot destination space will overhaul the existing food court within the Shops at Rivercenter, offering a vibrant array of eateries, a panaderia-inspired coffee shop, a stage for live music and art activations, a marketplace, and more. The expansive space is being designed by architect Frank Valadez of SA Partnership in concert with Jason Dady Restaurant Group. The addition of a curated food and beverage concept to the Shops at Rivercenter, already one of San Antonio’s most in-demand retail destinations, further enhances the center’s experiential evolution.

“This isn't just a food court — it’s an experience,” explains Chef Jason Dady, co-founder of Jason Dady Restaurant Group. “Our goal with Mexico Ceaty is to create a space where locals and visitors can enjoy the flavors and traditions of Mexico while celebrating the unique spirit of our city. We’re excited to bring a variety of concepts to this space, with each element designed to offer an immersive experience. We have everything from paletas and churros to street tacos and wagyu fajitas across an abundance of both quick- and full-service outlets. We want to create a space for everyone who visits. I am thrilled to bring this concept from a dream to reality and to be at the heart of the River Walk.”

Mexico Ceaty bar and restaurant concepts to open at Shops at Rivercenter will include:

  • Tres Arcos: An eclectic full-service restaurant focusing on the flavor, flair and favorites of Tex-Mex cuisine
  • Dos Cantinas: A 300-seat bar with two “Sunken Garden” sitting areas and elevated lofts, offering a lively atmosphere with margaritas, tequila cocktails and an elaborate menu
  • El Ultimo: A speakeasy-style agave tasting room showcasing artisanal mezcals and aged tequilas
  • Dulce Aroma: A panaderia café specializing in Mexican pastries, fresh churros and breakfast tacos in a casual environment

In addition to the four full-service concepts, Mexico Ceaty will feature food stands across its vibrant Main Plaza, including a tortilleria, taqueria, ceviche bar, fruteria and Baja burrito stand. The Mercado will stock retail offerings like salsas, handmade kitchen utensils, artisan crafts and more.

“Chef Jason Dady is a tremendous addition to the Shops at Rivercenter,” said Joe Presschief operating officer of Ashkenazy Acquisition. “It’s the next step in redefining the center’s transition from what was a traditional retail shopping mall into what it is today — a premier entertainment experience and destination. Mexico Ceaty brings another great dimension to the Shops at Rivercenter that visitors are going to love.”

Since 2001, Texas native Dady has explored the culinary scene of San Antonio. Beyond his role as a restaurant owner and executive chef, Dady applies familial values to create tight-knit bonds with his team and the San Antonio community. This new concept will be the seventh from Jason Dady Restaurant Group, following the recent opening of their sixth restaurant, Roca & Martillo, in collaboration with the San Antonio Spurs.

Mexico Ceaty will be located at 849 E. Commerce St. For more information, please visit mexicoceaty.com or follow @MexicoCeatySA on Instagram. Stay tuned for additional announcements later this year.

In addition to Mexico Ceaty, other high-end operators that are open at the Shops at Rivercenter include Legoland Discovery Center, Sea Life, AMC Theatres, IMAX, Dave & Buster’s, LiggettVille Adventure Center, Yard House, Margaritaville, Morton’s Steakhouse, LandShark, Sugar Factory and H&M.

Press, the COO of Ashkenazy, noted that more exciting operators will also be coming soon to the Shops at Rivercenter.
