U.S. Travel IPW 2021
IPW is the leading inbound travel trade show. Past IPWs have generated more than $5.5 billion in future travel by connecting U.S. travel exhibitors with travel buyers and media to promote their product and negotiate future business, securing America’s position as a foremost global travel destination and showcasing the best of what the United States has to offer.
Staff participated in this year’s IPW, held in Las Vegas, including 126 appointments. Appointments were with Receptive Operators, International Tour Operators, OTA’s, Ticket Resellers and Technology Companies that are currently promoting and or are interested in selling the destination. As Visit San Antonio works to develop a global strategy, the countries with which we will be meeting have been prioritized based on research and data.
Global Virtual Appointments September 15-16, 2021
Staff conducted 21 virtual appointments, each 12 minutes, earlier in September. Overall feedback from buyers has been that the pandemic has increased their interest and focus on developing products outside of traditional destinations. They are eager to learn and identify the opportunities for product development and San Antonio is high on their list, fueled by IPW 2023. The buyers that we met with were from Argentina, Brazil, China, France, Germany, Italy, Japan and South Korea.
Tourism Development Business Appointments
We will be meeting with buyers from Australia, Argentina, Canada, Colombia, China, Ecuador, Germany, Italy, Mexico, New Zealand, United Kingdom and Venezuela. In total, 136 appointments have been secured with buyers from all over the world.
