Mexico Sales & Media Mission Spurs Game in Mexico City December 14- 18, 2022

Staff coordinated a sales and media mission to Mexico City in conjunction with the Spurs/Miami Heat game. In collaboration with the U.S. Travel Association and the U.S. Department of Commerce, we coordinated a breakfast that focused on attendance building for the upcoming IPW 2023 conference, which is scheduled to be in San Antonio May 20 -24, 2023. The primary message for the 62 participants was to register by February 3, 2023. In addition, there were several one-on-one meetings with key clients to understand the current landscape and discuss opportunities to educate travel sellers and put promotions in place that will help drive visitation in the new year.

The Spurs game took place on Saturday, December 18. To capitalize on this game, we organized messaging at the Arena de Mexico that included a jumbo digital sign on the exterior along with monitors located through the arena. We also geo-fenced the arena and sent digital ads to cell phones and hosted a 360’photo lobby activation alongside AT&T, SAP, Nike, Uber Eats, and Banco Azteca. Through a collaboration with Price Travel, one of the largest online travel agencies in Mexico, we also executed a campaign on their website, which included digital ads and a destination landing page with special offers for San Antonio. In addition, to the marketing, we also hosted 20 clients for the game.
