The Communications Department recorded $161,594 in outer-market earned media value for April, the first full month under the effects of COVID-19. Coverage recorded for the month in major outlets included Travel + Leisure, Narcity, Cheapism, USA Today 10Best, WFAA-TV (Dallas ABC), KEYE-TV (Austin CBS) and KFOX-TV (El Paso FOX).
Much of the April coverage was related to Visit San Antonio’s push to tell a positive and inspiring story about community and our partners. The San Antonio Zoo’s many virtual efforts were particularly appealing and helped put San Antonio on the coverage map for major outlets including Travel + Leisure, Narcity and Cheapism.
Some of the media coverage recorded in April included coverage pitched and produced in the pre-COVID timeframe in which Visit San Antonio was pitching Spring Break travel.
