The Communications Department recorded $1,237,973 in outer-market earned media value and 123,707,996 Impact Impressions for April. Secured media represents coverage for San Antonio and our partners, which maintains the destination top of mind for visitors worldwide. Coverage recorded for the month in major outlets included Forbes, National Geographic, Town & Country, Travel + Leisure, AFAR, Instinct Magazine, Houston Chronicle, Modern Luxury Dallas, Vegan Health & Fitness Magazine, Aeromexico’s Aire (Mexico), El Occidental (Mexico), MSN Canada, CAA Magazine (Canada), Yahoo! This year’s media outreach for Fiesta was fantastic, yielding some early wins. Coverage has already appeared on Forbes and Travel + Leisure with more to come in the next few months. The Travel + Leisure story, focusing on the unique Fiesta Pooch Parade, was picked up by international editions in Canada and Singapore.

Visit San Antonio recently hosted prolific writer Adrienne Jordan to explore the destination’s evolving luxury offerings. Ms. Jordan found San Antonio to our liking and has already produced fantastic coverage of San Antonio, including two of this month’s top clips from Forbes and National Geographic. Working with Ms. Jordan and other similar prolific freelance writers is part of our ongoing strategy that is paying off as the media landscape changes and fewer media outlets have travel editors or writers on staff.
