The Communications Department recorded $1,117,362 in outer market earned media value from 23 media placements logged in March, with the quantity and values still affected by the pandemic changes in media and travel. Coverage recorded for the month included Forbes, USA Today, Lonely Planet, Travel Awaits, Valley Central (RGV), KGBT-TV (RGV CBS), KVEO-TV (RGV NBC), Texas Border Business, Instinct Magazine, Association Conventions & Facilities, BizBash, Aeromexico’s Aire (Mexico), Itinerario Turistico (Mexico), Imagen del Turismo (Mexico), Publimetro (Mexico), Informador (Mexico), Vidalturismo (Mexico), Quadrantin (Mexico), Travel Report (Mexico), Invertour (Mexico), Ladevi (Mexico) and Turitips.  

The top media clips for March show how the San Antonio PR efforts continue day in and day out. The highest media value clip for the month was one that had not been captured before that ran in December, promoting one of the city’s new hotels in 2021 as a result from continued pitching of all that is new in San Antonio.   

As part of ongoing pitching of San Antonio’s favorite attractions, USA Today and its 10Best editors included the San Antonio River Walk in voting for the nation’s top such venues and ours came in the top five after long weeks of online tabulations. Additional top clips from Mexico in March show results behind a strategy to make it clear to Mexican travelers that San Antonio is open for business and that they can easily get here via a variety of direct flights even while the land crossings are restricted.
