During Fiesta in April, the River Walk Operations assisted with Texas Cavalier’s Parade and held the Ford Mariachi Festival and the Fiesta Artisan Show. For the Ford Mariachi Festival, the number of attendees for three nights was 32,500. Staff were interviewed at KENS, KSAT, WOAI, and Telemundo to promote Fiesta activities. River Walk Royalty participated in Fiesta Fiesta and in the Cavalier, King William, and Flambeau parades. Staff met with and provided a Go Rio tour for the Fiesta Military Ambassadors.   

 The River Walk staff partnered with the CE Group to execute the Festival Del Rio parade during the IPW Convention on May 22 with roughly 5,800 people watching from the banks of the River Walk.  

On June 10, the River Walk Operations held the second annual Bud Light Pride River Parade and Celebration with Ada Vox as the Grand Marshal. A festival and two river parades were held, one on the Museum Reach and one downtown. Float sponsorship was sold out, and there was a waiting list. Staff were interviewed on news or morning shows on KENS, KSAT, WOAI, Spectrum, and Telemundo. The number of attendees was 47,900. River Walk Royalty also participated in the PrideSA street parade on June 29.  

River Walk staff held River Walk Operator Meetings in April and June to discuss the unsheltered and security issues on the River Walk. Staff also participated in the monthly downtown security meetings.  

The April – June issue of Rio Magazine was published, and around 25,000 free copies were printed and distributed at River Walk businesses and dwellings. The issue was also promoted on the River Walk website.
