Rebound Campaign
The Marketing team will launch a rebound campaign beginning in mid-June. The campaign — Si San Antonio — will encourage consumers to come enjoy San Antonio. It will encompass two promotions: a Staycation promotion targeted to locals and a Summer Getaway promotion targeted to travelers in Texas and touch state drive markets. Promotional offers are an integral part of the campaign in order to entice consumers to select San Antonio over competitive cities for their long-anticipated getaway. To that end, the entire Visit San Antonio staff has contacted partners to encourage hotel, attractions and restaurant to offer submissions. There is no cost to participate.
For this initiative, consumers who reserve a hotel stay from one of the participating hotel offers will receive a special promo card at check-in. When they present this card at participating attractions and restaurants, they will be able to redeem the offers.
All offers will be listed on VisitSanAntonio.com on custom pages for this campaign.
The campaign also includes a charitable component. For Staycation, hotels are donating 10% of room revenue to the San Antonio Food Bank. In addition, 10% of sales of the GoCard from this campaign will also go to the San Antonio Food Bank.
A comprehensive $2.5 million media plan will push the campaign through online advertising, paid social media, email, TV and radio.
A launch date for the entire campaign is to be announced, with the Staycation promotion live for 30 days afterward. The Summer Getaway promotion will be live through Aug. 16.
Virtual SA
Through the Virtual SA section of VisitSanAntonio.com, San Antonio maintains a presence with future visitors, highlighting its people and assets. This section continues to show the innovative ways partners are communicating through virtual tours, webinars, etc. It also highlights Local Heroes and how they are helping the community. DIY videos show how to make margaritas and more, and colorful video chat backgrounds highlight San Antonio icons. There is even a Virtual Health & Wellness page suggesting ways to relax.
Meetings Website
The Visit San Antonio team is making a final review of the new meetings website with the goal of launching very soon. This website reflects a clean, very visual design (similar to the leisure site), as well as a filtering system for meeting planners to explore hotels, venues and service providers. There is also a simplified RFP submission process and easy access to marketing materials and resources.
Threshold 360
Today more than ever, virtual tours are a necessity to show off our beautiful city, hotels, venues and attractions. To aid in our collective recovery, Visit San Antonio has teamed with Threshold 360 to create virtual tours of Visit San Antonio member hotels, venues and private dining. The program will begin with partners who have agreed to have videographers capture video of their businesses at this time. More partners will be included on an ongoing basis. There is no cost to partners. The 360 videos will be added to the Meetings website, as well as used by Visit San Antonio Sales and Destination Experience teams.
2020/2021 Visitor’s Guide
The 2020/2021 Visitor's Guide is set to release at the end of July. The primary purpose of the guide is to provide content that inspires people to visit the destination. This year, Visit San Antonio has committed to an expanded marketing plan with a value of over $450,000 for the guide. If you are interested in advertising in this guide, please contact David Dunham at our publishing partner Texas Monthly.
