Spring-tacular in San Antonio

A concerted Spring marketing effort is in progress through April. More than $2 million dollars in media will generate more than 174 million impressions to inspire consumers to visit San Antonio. Messaging is communicated across multiple channels including digital advertising, video, Search Engine Marketing, digital OOH, native content, paid social media, influencer marketing, e-mail, cable and streaming TV, streaming radio, podcast advertising, print and advertorial. A sample of highlighted media partners include GasBuddy, Boingo, iExplore, Chefsfeed, Storygize, Travel Mindset, Expedia, D Magazine, Austin Monthly, Houstonia, Texas Monthly, E-target, Hulu, Pandora, iHeart Radio, Ampersand and SpotX.

In addition to the destination plan, a Spring co-op campaign is promoting participating partners through a custom outreach in key Texas markets.

Plan for Summer Co-op

Marketing will soon begin outreach for a Summer co-op. This campaign is over and above Visit San Antonio’s destination marketing for summer and allows partners to highlight their specific business to a Texas audience. If you are interested in the Summer co-op campaign, let us know. We would love to work with you. Contact Sandysmith@visitsanantonio.com or Alyssabailey@visitsanantonio.com.

Dallas Discovers San Antonio

Dallas consumers get a taste of San Antonio from Feb. 22-23 at Stonebriar Centre in Frisco. Visit San Antonio will be hosting a consumer event to promote San Antonio for spring break. Marketing collaborated with Tourism and Communications to promote the event through digital advertising, website geo-targeted banner and landing page, OOH, e-mail, radio advertising, in-mall banners and signage.

2020/2021 Visitor’s Guide

Work is under way for the next version of the Official San Antonio Visitor’s Guide for publication May 2020. The primary purpose of the guide is to provide content that inspires people to visit the destination. A total of 375,000 guides are distributed across the United States and internationally. If you are interested in advertising in this guide, please contact David Dunham at our publishing partner Texas Monthly at ddunham@texasmonthly.com.

TV Exposure in Mexico

In partnership with Brand USA, Visit San Antonio launched a TV campaign in Mexico. A new 30-second TV spot was developed for this initiative, and a total of 786 spots are airing in target markets Monterrey, Mexico City, Queretaro and Guadalajara.

Stay Tuned for Meetings Website

Integration of our new CRM has been a major effort in the development of the new meetings website. Because this is the database for partner information, the team is taking every precaution to ensure the accuracy of the data before announcing a website launch date. The new website is visually engaging with striking images that showcase the destination and partners. Navigation is built to efficiently direct meeting planners to the information they need.

Transforming Leaders

Visit San Antonio again hosted its educational training series, Transforming Leaders, in Austin on Feb. 19. There were 79 customers attending. Attendees enjoyed a professional development session followed by a networking lunch. The session featured Ty Bennett, Founder of Leadership Inc., who presented the concepts in his book, The Power of Influence: Cultivating Change Through Empowered Leadership. The program was submitted to the CIC for 2.5 hours of continuing education (CE) credit for the CMP credential and qualifies for 2.25 CAE hours.

More Meetings Highlights

Six partners are participating in a themed e-mail co-op that will reach 400,000 meeting professionals across the country. Messaging will promote San Antonio as a meetings destination and highlight the participating partners.

Watch for the March/April issue of Meetings & Conventions, which features San Antonio on the cover. Also, the April issues of PCMA Convene, Meetings Today and Trade Show Executive have advertorial pages featuring San Antonio.
