November was a good month for varied media exposure for San Antonio. The Communications department was able to coordinate a series of interviews and social media promotions with several radio stations in the Rio Grande Valley and Laredo markets. These interviews and promotions, tied to holiday travel, help keep San Antonio as top of mind for these important feeder markets with cross-generational and English- and Spanish-speaking audiences.

Though many traditional media are still hesitant to make in-person journeys, Visit San Antonio has been successful in working with Texas-based social media influencers looking for a safe and fun trip. Our team has collaborated with our local partners to successfully host a few influencers to great result. They have provided immediate coverage of our city with the goal of inspiring their audience to travel to San Antonio when the time is right for them.

Thanks to the hard work of San Antonio organizations, the holiday spirit and decorations came early. To celebrate the early lighting of the River Walk decor, Visit San Antonio distributed its destination holiday release in mid-November and received positive pickup. The release was posted on more than 200 media outlets across the country, including nearly half from media in the state.

As we head into the end of the year, we look forward to telling the story of what positive news 2021 will bring, including the openings of hotels, restaurants, attractions and exhibitions. If you have stories to tell, please be sure to share with Visit San Antonio so we may help amplify the news as possible and appropriate.
