March was a busy month of outreach to media across the country. The Visit San Antonio team had media missions to Atlanta, San Francisco, Mexico City and Guadalajara. The team met with top national and international media including CNN, Upscale Magazine, Modern Luxury, Alto Nivel (Mexico), Travel + Leisure (Mexico), Aeromexico’s Aire and Accent, El Gurmet (Mexico), Veintitantos (Mexico), Publimetro (Mexico), Vidal Turistico (Mexico), ABZ Turistico (Mexico) and El Occidental (Mexico). Also, the team met with prolific freelance writers with whom we will be working later this year to produce more coverage of San Antonio.

It was also a busy month for hosting media in San Antonio, so they can explore and report on their personal experiences. At the beginning of the month, Visit San Antonio hosted a group of Canadian social media influencers. The group of four have more than 400,000 Instagram followers combined and provided great exposure to inspire Canadians to visit our city for spring and summer. The team also hosted writers representing Conde Nast Traveler, Passport Magazine, Sherman’s Travel, Mexico’s Veintitantos Magazine and a writer from Australia’s Traveltalk Magazine.

During Spring Break weeks in March, Communications did extensive outreach to key drive markets promoting the destinations. In a coordinated effort with other Visit San Antonio departments and members, the team was able to secure promotions in the Dallas, Houston and Corpus Christi markets for this important time of the year.
