Three hotels in San Antonio, Texas, have recently completed renovations and transformations.
Signia by Hilton's Texas debut
A $40 million project has converted a favorite hilltop property in San Antonio, Texas, into the 496-room Signia by Hilton La Cantera Resort & Spa (above). The rebranding represents both Signia by Hilton's first hotel in Texas and Hilton's 9,000th hotel globally.
Overlooking the rolling Texas Hill Country landscape and set on 550 acres, the resort features nine dining experiences and a host of amenities, including the Loma de Vida Spa, the La Cantera Golf Club, five pools, a kids' camp, and more than 131,000 square feet of meeting space, highlighted by the 5,100-square-foot Calera, a new wedding and events venue.
"Texas holds a special place in Hilton's growth story, and the Hill Country's rich heritage and warm hospitality make it the perfect setting for this milestone," said Danny Hughes, president of the Americas for Hilton. "We're proud to expand our footprint in this vibrant state and look forward to welcoming guests."
Design details pay homage to the legendary King Ranch, widely considered to be the birthplace of American ranching. The grand lobby features exposed-wood beams, a stone fireplace and rustic furnishings. The guest rooms, including 34 boutique-style villas and an exclusive adults-only floor, also aim to capture the spirit of the Texas Hill Country through regionally inspired décor.
Transformed downtown event spaces
Downtown's 630-room Hyatt Regency San Antonio Riverwalk has completed a $5.7 million renovation of its event spaces, blending modern design with warm textures that reflect the energy and culture of the city.
"We're thrilled to embark on a new era of our property by delivering an elevated experience reflecting both the vibrancy of our downtown setting and the dynamic expectations of today's event planners and attendees," said Chryssaldo Thomas, general manager of the hotel.
The transformed meeting and event spaces now offer a blend of modern design and warm textures. From custom Axminster carpets and rich dark-wood finishes to bronze accents and textured wallcoverings, the renovation introduces new design elements throughout the hotel's ballrooms and meeting spaces. The design draws from the meandering river that flows through the city, binding nature, architecture and culture together.
Enhanced River Walk hotel
The 1,003-room Grand Hyatt San Antonio River Walk has completed a nearly $9 million renovation project, tackling the lobby, restaurants and public spaces.
The work created a new dining concept, Moda Fare, elevated coffee service at Spoonful Provisions, and the sophisticated Tejas Lounge.
"These renovations reflect our commitment to providing an exceptional stay for every guest who walks through our doors," said Ryan Fender, general manager the hotel. "The completion of this project brings comfort and convenience to our guests and celebrates traditional Texas flavors and hospitality in a luxurious setting."
The updated lobby features brand-new check-in desks with a modern design, backed by dark wood accents and crystal chandeliers. The renovation includes contemporary lighting fixtures and an open layout providing a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
The enhancements also include the installation of the Tejas Lounge at the west end of the lobby, serving a curated selection of Texas spirits and a menu of light bites in an intimate setting.
