River Walk Live! launches May 16, 2024, and will feature live music under the stars on the banks of the San Antonio River downtown
SAN ANTONIO (May 2, 2024) — The heart of San Antonio is about to get a lot livelier as River Walk Live! – the first concert series on the River Walk – kicks off Thursday, May 16, from 7 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Working in partnership with major music labels, River Walk Live! will welcome established and emerging music artists from all over the country to perform at the historic Arneson River Theatre on the third Thursday of each month, excluding April and November. Launching this momentous concert series will be Grammy-nominated country music star Jack Ingram.
“River Walk Live! is part of Visit San Antonio’s commitment to elevating the River Walk experience for the community and visitors alike. This new, free event will attract guests downtown to further engage with this natural wonder we have in the heart of our city,” said Marc Anderson, President and CEO of Visit San Antonio. “The River Walk is a meticulously maintained attraction that lures visitors from all over the world with its captivating beauty and lively Fiesta spirit. We are thrilled to bring this experience downtown for all to enjoy.”
Throughout a recording career that has spanned more than 20 years, Texas native Jack Ingram has maintained a reputation for uncompromising, personally charged song craft and energetic, charismatic performances, earning him prominent stature in a prestigious tradition of iconoclastic singer-songwriters. Ingram’s prior work has won him a fiercely devoted fan base as well as reams of critical acclaim.
River Walk Live! shows will be free to the public and seating will be available until capacity is reached at The Arneson Theatre, which holds an estimated 800 seats. Featured artists for upcoming River Walk Live! shows will be announced in the weeks to come closer to show dates.
