SAN ANTONIO, TX (June 25, 2024) – White Lodging and Kimpton Santo, part of IHG Hotels & Resorts’ luxury and lifestyle portfolio, are pleased to unveil new details regarding its four luxe food and beverage concepts. Each respective restaurant or bar will feature elevated cuisine, exceptional service, craft cocktails, and more. The boutique luxury hotel and its culinary experiences are targeted to open in late summer.
A Culinary Destination
Dean’s Steak & Seafood is a classic steakhouse adapted into the historic 19th century German-English schoolhouse building located on the grounds of Kimpton Santo. Dean’s will feature 207 seats, a two-level dining room, an oyster bar, and a specially curated private wine room. Guests can expect an elevated menu of prime steaks, A5 Japanese and Texas wagyu, and quality seafood. The kitchen at Dean’s Steak & Seafood will be led by Executive Chef Robert Garcia, who most recently worked as a Corporate Executive Chef at J-Prime Steakhouse and other culinary roles at Ruth’s Chris Steak House and Bohanan’s Prime Steaks & Seafood.
This one-of-a-kind steakhouse worked closely with the Historic Office of Preservation to incorporate many of the building’s original features. The design elegantly blends the old with the new showcasing double-height exposed-wood vaulted ceilings, dramatic lighting, original limestone walls, and chic furnishings that create a unique sense of place.
The Bar at Dean’s is as much an oasis for guests as it is a work of art. The four sides of the square-shaped bar are adorned with woven panels constructed by Doerte Weber, a conceptual local artist who weaves with diverse modern, quotidian materials. The panels, which face north, east, south and west are an homage to the land and culture surrounding Kimpton Santo and its history. Guests can enjoy the full Dean’s Steak & Seafood menu at The Bar, as well as partake in the exclusive ‘Dean’s List,’ which will include off-the-menu rare bourbon pours and vintage bottles of wine.
The Study at Dean’s is an intimate cocktail bar featuring an elevated drink menu that places a heavy emphasis on the art of mixology. Tucked just off the hotel’s historic courtyard and inside one of the property’s 19-century German-English schoolhouse buildings, The Study at Dean’s welcomes cocktail aficionados who appreciate higher touch ingredients, presentation, and ambiance. The bar’s jewel box lounge and abundant shade on its patio, provided by the century-old live oak trees, seats 78 and creates a bespoke atmosphere that guests won’t want to leave behind. In addition to its cocktail program, The Study at Dean’s will feature small plates like charcuterie, caviar, Wagyu tartare, smoked salmon tartlets and more. Everything about The Study at Dean’s, from its name - a play on words referencing the German-English schoolhouse - to its higher appreciation for the finer aspects of food and beverage, make this bar the educated choice to connect and unwind.
Tenfold Rooftop will be the newest and buzziest rooftop bar known for being one of the tallest in the city, as well as the only luxury, year-round open air rooftop. The bar will serve playful cocktails with an emphasis on tequila and mezcal, as well as beer and wine by the glass. The menu features 13 small plates inspired by global travels. Guests can also embark on a culinary trip with Tenfold’s unique ‘10x Tour’ - a menu option of 10 chef-selected dishes from 10 different regions worldwide. This prix fixe menu folds in the best of the best, elevating a culinary experience that’s 10x better than the rest.
