Every year, numerous new restaurants and bars launch across San Antonio, each with a mission to capture a local audience that'll keep coming back for years to come. Throughout 2025, there were plenty of impressive new spots that made an impact on the city's dining scene, offering everything from authentic French pastries to Puerto Rican-infused barbecue.

As the year comes to a close, we took a look back at all the 2025 restaurant openings and curated a list of the best of the best to consider for your next culinary adventure in San Antonio.

Bucán Rodeo

With roots as a pop-up, Bucán Rodeo evolved into a food truck in 2025, with a permanent parking spot behind Three Star Bar. The chefs behind the concept, Michael Barrera-Pacheco and Roy "RJ" Baker, combined their backgrounds to create one-of-a-kind Puerto Rican and Texas barbecue fusion, with dishes that exemplify both cooking traditions. Flawlessly smoked meats share space with mofongo and tostones on generous platters served with care at Bucán Rodeo.

Gigi’s Deli

After an extended hiatus, Gigi's Deli staged a comeback in 2025, directing its customers to St. Paul Square for East Coast sandwiches made in-house by chef Matt Garcia, who folks might recognize from his work with The Fajita Lounge. Once a pop-up at Little Death, Gigi's planted roots inside of El Tigre Coffee Roasters, where customers can order from an array of classic deli sandwiches, including a bacon, egg and cheese, and creative riffs from Garcia.

Jue Let

Jue Let is the cocktail-forward follow-up to chef Jennifer Hwa Dobbertin's popular Pearl restaurant, Best Quality Daughter. Since launching in late November, the bar has had no trouble getting people through the doors of its swanky digs located in the former Blue Box. Here, drinks combine quality spirits with flavors from across the Asian continent, including tastes of yuzu, green tea and lychee in the mix. On the food side, Jue Let offers elevated, whimsical bar bites, like the crab Louie onigiri or pho broth-marinated tea eggs.

Kaedama Battleship

Downtown San Antonio finally has a dedicated ramen bar in the form of Kaedama Battleship, which was brought to Houston Street by Empty Stomach, the group behind hits like Hot Joy, Barbaro and Double Standard. The concept launched to the public in November, serving up traditional tonkotsu, double miso and pork shoyu ramen noodle bowls topped with collard greens, nori and green onions. Kaedama also maintains a selection of sake, Japanese beer and highballs on the menu.

Lacoste Bakery

The February soft opening of Lacoste Bakery was beautiful chaos for the small operation, with long lines of croissant lovers flooding the business and selling out of pastries. Lovers Pizzeria

At the top of 2025, Lovers Pizzeria relaunched in its new Monte Vista home after vacating its original spot on the city's Southside. Upon its second debut, the craft pizza shop became a viral sensation, with customers from across the city and beyond lining up to grab a pie before the business sells out — and they will sell out. Pumpers

The self-proclaimed adult burger store held its grand opening in January, having already developed a cult following in the weeks prior. With origins as a pop-up, the current iteration of Pumpers has easily risen to new burger heights at its permanent home off Broadway. At this joint, burgers are served on a milk bun with American cheese and a combination of classic and funky toppings, like the Culo Melt's salsa matcha aioli and the charred cumin barbecue sauce that's slathered on the Charles Jr. burger.

Singhs Cantina

Singhs Vietnamese has been a staple on the St. Mary's Strip since 2018, so it was a big deal when the restaurant opened a sister concept on San Antonio's Far Northwest Side in 2025. Singhs Cantina has many of the fan-favorite dishes from its predecessor, including the banh mi and brisket bun, with a few new additions, like the occasionally featured Vietnamese noodle soups. The newer restaurant also has ample patio space and a dedicated bar to complete the cantina vibes.

The brisket and the ribs are must-try items along with the housemade rice, which is simply packed with flavor.

Tacopolis

It was a loss for the city when chef Alex Paredes shuttered his lauded restaurant, Carnitas Lonja, at the end of 2023. Here, you can choose from a selection of tacos and quesadillas filled with a choice of meats, including carnitas, barbacoa, birria and chorizo.
