Texas

October in the state capital is synonymous with the Austin City Limits Festival (October 4-6 & October 11-13), and over the course of the famous festival's two weeks, Zilker Park will come alive with music from Chris Stapleton, Blink-182, Dua Lipa, Pretty Lights, Tyler The Creator, Sturgill Simpson and many more. In Big D, the State Fair of Texas will fill up the state fairgrounds with scores of fun things to do, see and taste through October 20. Then, head to the East Texas town of Conroe to let the good times roll at the annual Conroe Cajun Catfish Festival (October 11-13), a party centered around family and community. End your month in San Antonio at the San Antonio’s Día de los Muertos, the largest Day of the Dead festivities in the nation, featuring colorful parades, cultural performances and altar displays among other events (October 27 - November 3).
