The Alamo and San Antonio Missions

Both the San Antonio Missions and the Alamo are free to visit, but you’ll need to reserve a ticket in advance to enter the Alamo.

  • Start your visit to the San Antonio Missions by dropping by the Visitor Center at Mission San José and catching a showing of "Gente de Razon," or "People of Reason," played daily on the hour from 10:00 am to 4:00 p.m.
  • Gain deeper knowledge of the missions with a free ranger-led guided tour, offered daily at Mission San José at 10:00 am. and 11:00 a.m. (weather permitting). Then, stop by the Visitor Center to ask how your child can become a Junior Ranger.
  • Just behind the Alamo, you'll find a living history encampment with hands-on demonstrations, including a musket firing presentation daily at 10:30 a.m. at Plaza de Valero.
  • Explore more special Alamo artifacts, exhibits, and collections, like the Phil Collins collection, at the Ralston Family Collections Center, available with the purchase of a separate ticket.
