What is the San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo?

Since 1949, the San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo has been a cornerstone of the Alamo City’s cultural scene. Drawing over 1.5 million visitors annually, it’s a spectacle like no other, with over 20,000 exhibitors and 6,000 volunteers.

This year, the action unfolds from February 6-23, 2025, at the Frost Bank Center on San Antonio’s Eastside.

The 18-day event features thrilling rodeo competitions, live concerts, a bustling carnival, and a stock show that awards scholarships to high school students. As part of the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA) schedule, it’s one of the most prestigious events in the rodeo world.

Ride a Sheep like a Jr. Cowboy

Does your little cowboy or cowgirl want to get in on all the rodeo fun? Well, they can take their shot at Mutton Bustin’! In this event, Little Buckaroos "cowboy up" and hold on for six exciting seconds on the back of a sheep as the Rodeo crowd goes wild.

Lottery spots in this event are hard to get. But the Rodeo has extended the fun with over 1,500 opportunities for young riders in the Bustin’ in the Barn event. Here, young riders can compete for a chance to win a slot in the big leagues of sheep riding in the Rodeo.
