“This year’s Taco Fest: Music Y Más artist lineup is as exciting, eclectic, and unique as our food lineup, only louder,” said Taco Fest: Music Y Más Programmer, Jim Mendiola. “Our festival attendees will have the opportunity to experience a variety of acts, including GRAMMY Award-winning artist Lila Downs, conjunto legend Santiago Jimenz, Jr., and Salt Cathedral, an electric-pop duo based in Brooklyn by way of Bogotá. Other bands include the socially-conscious hip-hop of San Antonio’s own Mexican Step Grandfather, and the truly legendary Southern California punk band, The Zeros, formed in 1976, who were part of the first wave of LA punk rock. It’s a lineup that’s as puro San Antonio as Big Red and barbacoa.”
In addition to this year’s performers and taco vendors, Taco Fest: Music Y Más will feature presentations by taco writer Gustavo Arellano, expanded children’s programming provided by Spare Parts, Cooking with Kids with Dr. Ellen Riojas Clark, Magik Theatre’s Dragons Love Tacos Experience and more. Additional artists and vendors will continue to be announced leading up to the event date.
A feast for the senses, taco lovers and festival attendees will once again have the opportunity to vote on their favorite taco restaurants in categories including “Best Traditional Taco,” “Best Specialty Taco,” “People’s Choice” and more.
