New hours take effect after daylight savings on Monday, March 9
SAN ANTONIO (Monday, March 9, 2020) – The San Antonio Botanical Garden announced its new extended hours during the weekday, Monday – Friday. Effective Monday, March 9, after daylight savings the new hours will be 9 a.m. – 7 p.m. and will run through Friday, Oct. 30. Hours on Saturday and Sunday will continue to be 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. The Botanical Garden is closed three days out of the year on Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.
By adjusting the hours, the Botanical Garden will welcome more visitors looking to take a stroll through the different gardens including the East Texas Piney Wood Lake. Families will be able to enjoy the Family Adventure Garden’s 15 fun spaces that encourage unstructured play and exploration.
“We know that our visitors and the residents of this beautiful city lead busy lives and understand that they need the flexibility to enjoy the Botanical Garden when it’s most convenient to them,” said Sabina Carr, CEO, San Antonio Botanical Garden. “By extending our hours, we’re meeting the community’s needs and providing the opportunity to connect with nature.”
General admission includes access to the Botanical Garden’s 38 acres of garden space, including colorful floral displays, true to Texas native areas and futuristic glass pyramids filled with exotic plants from around the world. As a living plant museum, the Botanical Garden is dedicated to the collection, cultivation, preservation and display of a wide range of plants.
