Things to See, Do, and Explore

  • Start in Southtown. A creative community filled with local artists and locally-owned cafes and bars, Southtown is an ideal neighborhood to spend a few hours exploring. But, first thing’s first – grab a coffee! Visit Halcyon for a steaming cup of their hand-picked single-origin coffee.
  • With coffee in hand, stroll your way to the nearby King William Historic District, a Victorian-inspired neighborhood filled with history, charm, and friendly locals. Perfect for urban exploring, the area boasts micro-distilleries, parks, walk and bike path and kayaking along the San Antonio River. Grab a BCycle and ride throughout the neighborhood. Or, venture towards the river and take in the city’s natural beauty.
  • When hunger strikes, make a stop at Maverick for brunch on a gorgeous patio – complete with outstanding menu offerings and sweet San Antonio sunshine. A local favorite, Maverick focuses on Texas ingredients with dishes that are classically prepared (mostly cooked over a live wood fire). Pro Tip: Call ahead for a reservation, as the weekend service gets booked-up quickly.
  • Then, walk, bike, or drive your way to Pearl, a top culinary, cultural, and shopping destination just north of downtown. As a former brewery operating from 1883 to 2001, Pearl reflects a vivid past while embracing the future. The district is bursting with food and drink options, boutique shopping, regular live music events, and loads of local flavor. For shopping aficionados, consider Adelante for fashion-forward apparel; Curio in Hotel Emma for carefully curated treasures and unique finds and, LeeLee for hand-picked footwear.
  • After a full day of exploring and shopping, make time for a rooftop happy hour at Paramour – complete with killer cocktails and stunning views. Located on the expanded Museum Reach, right behind the San Antonio Museum of Art, Paramour specializes in hard to find and difficult to acquire beverages. Order your favorite cocktail and take in the early evening views of the spectacular San Antonio skyline.
