Texas San Antonio
Spice up your relationship with a visit to festive San Antonio. Stroll hand-in-hand along the River Walk, located 20 feet below street level (access via stairs, elevators, and ramps). You’ll meander along lush pathways past restaurants, shops, hotels, and bars. Ride a wheelchair accessible boat on the river while listening to a short history of the 80-year-old attraction.
A lovely way to view the River Walk is from Ocho—the restaurant at Hotel Havana. Tables and bar stools are placed inside a glass conservatory with whimsical decor. The food is prepared by Chef Jesse Kuykendall, who won season 47 episode 13 of the Food Network’s “Chopped.”
Alamo San Antonio Botanical Garden
Stop by and pay your respects at the iconic Alamo. Explore the 38-acre San Antonio Botanical Garden and its unique Texas Trail with period homes. The intimate McNay Art Museum, housed in a 1927 Spanish Colonial-Revival home on a picturesque hillside is wheelchair accessible. The museum contains modern art and rotating exhibits.
A former brewery built in 1883, the Pearl hosts a Farmers’ Market on Saturday and a Makers’ Market on Sunday. Unwind at one of the more than two dozen restaurants and watering holes.
Tuesday through Saturday evenings, sit with your Honey under the stars while a dazzling video art show dances across the facade of the San Fernando Cathedral.
