Selena Forever/Siempre Selena

January 15, 2020 - January 10, 2021

The McNay pays tribute to 90s icon, singer, designer, and Texas legend—Selena Quintanilla-Pérez—with five photographs by award-winning San Antonio photographer John Dyer. Selena was the subject of Dyer’s photo assignments for the cover of Más Magazine in 1992 and again for Texas Monthly in 1995, just months before she was tragically killed at age 23. Selena Forever/Siempre Selena is organized by the McNay Art Museum, curated by Kate Carey, Head of Education. Included with General Admission. Please note that the McNay will re-open on June 26, 2020.

Veteran’s Writing Collective with Sarah Colby

The Veteran’s Writing Collective encourages the art of writing in a workshop environment where participants are offered honest, positive, and constructive feedback. The workshop is geared to all active-duty military, veterans, and their immediate family members. This group is open to writers of all levels working in all genres. Visual Voices: Contemporary Chickasaw Art

With nearly 60 artworks of present-day Chickasaw painters, potters, sculptors, metalsmiths and weavers, this exhibition conveys a beautiful and compelling contemporary visual story. From oil and watercolor to textiles and metals, glass, bronze and other materials, the artworks of 15 featured Chickasaw artists in this exhibition are unique, intrinsically Southeast in design and distinctive among today’s contemporary tribal artists.

YOSA Winter Concerts

December 19 and 20, 2020, YOSA will present their first concerts of the 2020/21 season at the Tobin Center for the Performing Arts.
