Different tribes and people groups have developed their own systems and styles of baby carriers based on their unique cultures, ways of living, weather, customs and aesthetic experiences. Baby-carrying styles offer insight to child-rearing methods, religion, social structure and craftwork of cultures. Body-carrying offers the baby a sense of safety and enhances the closeness between the parent & child. Underlying them all is the universal foundation of love, affection and devotion of parenthood. Los Maestros: Early Explorers of Chicano Identity

This exhibition focuses on three of the founders of San Antonio’s Chicano arts movement of the 1960s and 1970s: Jesse Almazan, Jose Esquivel, and Rudy Treviño and will highlight their unique contributions and histories as individual artists. Curated by San Antonio arts organization Centro Cultural Aztlan. Please note that Centro de Artes will be temporarily closed beginning March 14, 2020.

Sesame Street Party Parade

Sesame Street Bay of Play will be a focal point for summer fun with a colorful, musical, show-stopping award-winning parade featuring everyone’s favorite Sesame Street friends. The parade showcases 10 larger-than-life themed floats, including iconic Sesame Street favorites such as Mr. Hooper’s Store and Count’s Castle.
