Viva Poesía Notas Sabrosas
The City of San Antonio World Heritage Office presents the official City of San Antonio National Poetry Month kick-off event, VIVA Poesía: Notas Sabrosas, a celebration of the San Antonio UNESCO Creative City Of Gastronomy designation.
This event will showcase the confluence of our city’s great wealth of culture by bringing together tasty elements from our rich history of the literary, visual, musical and culinary arts. It’s a free, family-friendly happening that will feature spoken-word performances, a Haiku Battle for cash prizes, live music, food demonstrations by local chefs, interactive art workshops for the kids, a fruit tree give-away for the community, and a short-film screening.
Bring lawn chairs to stay and enjoy live spoken word by Jason Shaggy Gossard, Diamond Mason, Tomas Castillo-Roque and musical performances by Volcán and Jazz Poets of San Antonio.
Featured chefs include Tatu Herrera of Folklores Coffee House, Jesse Rodriguez of Los Locales, and Flor Vergara of La Gloria
