Texas A&M Corps of Cadets At The San Antonio Livestock Show & Rodeo.

Members of the Corps of Cadets’ special unit, Parsons Mounted Cavalry, and the Corps Recruiting team will be in attendance at the San Antonio Livestock Show & Rodeo on February 10th & 11th. As Texas A&M’s premier leadership program, the Corps of Cadets provides students with a well-rounded, unique college experience. Using a military based cultural model, the Corps produces some of the nation’s finest leaders in the public, private and military sectors.
On Saturday, February 11th, one of the Corps of Cadets’ most unique special units, Parsons Mounted Cavalry, will ride in the rodeo’s Grand Entry as the color guard for the evening. Saturday is also the rodeo’s military appreciation day, tying into Texas A&M’s rich military history and traditions.
As the country’s only collegiate mounted cavalry unit, Parsons Mounted Cavalry teaches cadets self-discipline, confidence, leadership and decision-making through military horse training. Parsons Mounted Cavalry is open to all junior and senior cadets in the Corps, and prior horsemanship experience is not required.
A static display will be available for rodeo attendees to interact with; the Spirit of ‘02, a 76mm M1902 field gun, and the Parsons Mounted Cavalry escort wagon will be featured elements of the static display. Additionally, members of Parsons Mounted Cavalry and the Corps Recruiting team will be available throughout the weekend to share more about the Corps of Cadets experience to rodeo attendees.
Members of the Texas A&M Corps of Cadets’ recruiting team & cadets in Parsons Mounted Cavalry will be present at the San Antonio Livestock Show & Rodeo Friday, February 10th and Saturday, February 11th, 2023. Parsons Mounted Cavalry will ride in the Grand Entry for the rodeo on the evening of Saturday, February 11th. The San Antonio Livestock Show & Rodeo is located at the AT&T Center.
