Listen to Your Mother San Antonio
Celebrating its fourth year in San Antonio, Listen to Your Mother (LTYM) is announcing its largest lineup to date of fourteen local storytellers, showcasing a diverse cast of men and women who will share stories about motherhood in honor of Mother’s Day. LTYM is honored to announce a new charitable partner: David’s Legacy Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to eliminating all forms of bullying among teens and children through education, legislation and legal action. A percentage of ticket sales will be awarded to David’s Legacy Foundation.
LTYM features live readings by local storytellers/writers on the beauty, the beast and the barely rested of motherhood. The end result is a well-crafted 90-minute show that includes heartbreaking and heartwarming stories all related in some way to motherhood. More than 50 individuals auditioned to be part of the show. The 2020 Listen to Your Mother San Antonio cast includes: Tessa Benavides, Amanda Buckert, Mandy Cruz, Clarissa Gonzales, Taylor Henderson, Michael Howard, Laura Kevilus, Nanette Mackenroth, Bonita Owens, Michael Quintanilla, Gretchen Randall, Dawn Thurmond, Helen Tiseth and Kalie Vidales.
“We are thrilled to have David’s Legacy Foundation as our charitable partner,” said Jill Robbins, one of three co-producers/directors of LTYM San Antonio. “Its mission to eliminate cyberbullying strikes at the heart of every parent and we are proud to be able to support their cause.”
David’s Legacy Foundation is named for David Molak, who took his life at 16 after having been harassed and bullied via text messages and social media. “Mother’s Day is especially hard on those whose have lost children,” said David Molak’s mother and David’s Legacy Foundation founder, Maurine Molak. “It feels appropriate to partner with a show that celebrates all aspects of motherhood through storytelling.”
