Josh Calvin & 183 South
Josh Calvin & the 183 South Band is an unlikely combination of musicians who have grown together into a high-energy, blues rock/Americana band. Founded in 2019 by front-man Josh Calvin and former drummer Johnathan Hidalgo, 183 South is quickly becoming a force to be reckoned with on the South Texas music scene. To say 183 South’s music is multi-generational would be an understatement. Come to a show and you’re likely to hear a wide variety of genres, with covers ranging from Americana artists such as Koe Wetzel, Austin Meade, and Parker McCollum, to blues and rock hits by Gary Clark Jr., Michael Burks, and Stevie Ray Vaughn. This unique blend has also found its way into the group’s songwriting, resulting in local hits such as My Song, Strong Enough, I Hate Me Too, Aftermath, and Shattered Dreams. We have shared a stage with tremendous artists such as Austin Meade, the Reed Brothers, Shaker Hymns, and the amazing up-and-coming band Kin Faux. Whatever your musical preference, Josh Calvin & the 183 South Band are sure to get you on your feet and ignite your inner rockstar. Come to a show, we promise you won’t be disappointed.
