!!!Part of our Huipil show is coming back around!!!
December 7th, 2019, Saturday, from 6:00 to 8:00 @ UMAM
“Huipiles A Celebration, showcased 30 archival color framed prints of mine, featuring portraits of women and children wearing Huipiles, (textiles made by indigenous people in Mexico and Guatemala). The show was a collaboration with the very talented painter, Kathy Sosa, hair and makeup artist, Cynthia Hancevic and Begoña Ubieta. The show opened here in San Antonio, at the Museo Alameda Smithsonian, then traveled to the Smithsonian affiliate Mexican Consulate in Washington DC.
The collaboration continues with 12 of my original pieces, 12-13 pieces from Somerset High School, all inspired by the powerful Huipil. It will be interesting to see their interpretations. All proceeds from the artwork will be accepted as donations for educational trips beyond the classroom, to Museums, Visual Art schools and Colleges outside TX.
Our pieces will be on displayed at UNAM (Universidad Autónoma de México en San Antonio), December 7th, 2019, Saturday, from 6:00 to 8:00. Hope to see you there 😍
