Distance Learning – The Biology and Ecology of Native Texas Bees
Texas has over 700 species of native bees representing almost one-fifth of all the species found in the United States. Join entomologist, Jessica Beckham, to learn about the biology and ecology of native bees, the role they play in maintaining healthy ecosystems, their importance as pollinators, and what we can plant and do in our landscapes to promote healthy populations. Sponsored by San Antonio Water System. Since this is a distance learning class, participants will require a computer and internet connection to take the workshop. Following the workshop, participants are asked to take a brief survey, which allows the Botanical Garden to get credit from San Antonio Water System for your attendance, process your refund, and for you to get WaterSaver Rewards points if any are available for the class. A web link and instructions will be sent to you 24 hours prior to the start of class.
Fee: $10 refundable deposit upon completion of the post-workshop survey
Instructor: Dr. Jessica Beckham, Ph.D. in Entomology, entomologist, and lecturer in the UTSA Environmental Science and Ecology department
