At Home and At War
April’s free second Sunday at the UTSA Institute of Texan Cultures offers guests the opportunity to explore the roles Texans played during World War II, at home and at war.
Some 750,000 Texans served during World War II. This pivotal point in history brought great changes to Texas, including a massive civilian effort on the home front.
Special guest WWII veterans will share stories and memorabilia, UTSA history students will present research about topics ranging from civil rights and identity to military service, and we will have hands-on artifacts and crafts.
Teachers can earn CPE credits and receive lesson plans about WWII.
