Armed Forces River Parade
This free parade is dedicated to the men and women in all branches of the United States Armed Forces and features 15 patriotically decorated floats carrying all branches of military personnel and numerous businesses and nonprofits who honor and support active and retired soldiers. View the parade for free from throughout the downtown section of the River Walk.
WEATHER: The Armed Forces River Parade will happen if it is raining. However, the event would be canceled if severe weather created an unsafe situation for the float riders or the public. Unsafe conditions include but are not limited to lightning or high winds. Please check this Official River Walk Social Media channels starting at 7 am on the event date. The final determination will be made at 10 am.
This is one of the largest Parades held on the River Walk. Please make a reservation at your favorite River Walk patio for prime viewing of the parade. You are also welcome to bring folding chairs and sit along the parade route (parade route map will be in photo gallery). Please do not block pedestrian traffic! Come out early to secure a good spot. The parade is approximately 1-hour in length from when you see the first float to the last float.
11 am start. The parade is approximately 1 hour long from when you see your first float along the 2 1/2 mile parade route on the downtown portion of River Walk (see map in photo gallery).
