Carver Community Cultural Center
226 N Hackberry
The mission of the Carver Community Cultural Center is to celebrate the diverse cultures of our world, nation, and community, with emphasis on its African and African-American heritage, by providing challenging artistic presentations, community outreach activities, and educational programs. Two unique venues can accommodate an array of social and cultural events. The Jo Long Theatre plays host to 10-12 main stage performances while the Little Carver Civic Center features 4 Intimate Series events.
Each season offers eclectic and multi-ethnic representations from various disciplines such as dance, music and theater. The Carver strives to provide learning opportunities outside the academic environment by giving students exposure to performers for whom art is a way of life. These programs contain entertainment and educational components that cater to both young and mature audiences.
