Browse art, history and culture of the American West at the Briscoe Western Art Museum. San Antonio’s newest museum, the Briscoe is located along the San Antonio River Walk in the former San Antonio Public Library building with nine galleries on three levels. Named in honor of the late Texas Governor, Dolph Briscoe, Jr. and his wife, Janey Slaughter Briscoe, museum highlights include Pancho Villa’s saddle, a diorama of the Alamo, an authentic Chuck Wagon, and works by Frederic Remington and Taos Society of Artists. Also, the three-story Jack Guenther Pavilion and McNutt Courtyard & Sculpture Garden can accommodate private events and pubic programs. Admission to the Museum is $10 for adults, $8 for seniors (65+), students and retired military (with valid ID).
