15th Annual Dialogue and Friendship Dinner
The Annual Dialogue and Friendship Dinner is organized by Raindrop Foundation and University of the Incarnate Word (UIW) to contribute to the progress of intercultural and interfaith dialogue. Every year, more than 200 guests join this celebration of our city’s cultural diversity and appreciation of contributors to the local and global peace.
The 15th Annual Dialogue and Friendship Dinner will be held at 6 P.M. on Thursday, MARCH 5TH, at THE UIW SEC BALLROOM at 4301 Broadway St. San Antonio, TX 78209. The theme of this year’s dinner is “Working Together for a More Peaceful, Just, and Sustainable World”. The keynote speaker will be Dr. Robert P Sellers, Professor of Theology Emeritus at Hardin-Simmons University.
Dr. Robert P. Sellers is the immediate past Chair of the Board of Trustees of the Parliament of the World’s Religions. Dr. Sellers and his wife Janie were teachers in Indonesia for almost 25 years. As a Baptist Christian, he is a member of the Interfaith Relations and Collaboration Table of the National Council of Churches and the Interfaith Relations Commission of the Baptist World Alliance. Because of his role with the Parliament of the World’s Religions, Dr. Sellers has participated in four international conferences with Muslim and Jewish partners that resulted in the Marrakesh Declaration (Morocco, 2016) and the Alliance of Virtue Charter (United Arab Emirates, 2019).
During the dinner, awards will be presented to local leaders and agencies who have demonstrated outstanding community service and contributed to friendship and dialogue.
In addition to the inspiring speech by the honorable keynote speaker, Dr. Robert P. Sellers, and a delicious dinner in the SEC Ballroom, a live music performance by Raindrop Ensemble, a live art show, a live calligraphy demonstration, a silent auction, and a gift shop with unique items will be presented.
