I moved to San Antonio in 2017 from New Orleans, and I have fallen in love with the city. I would say one of my favorite things here is the River Walk, but not just the Downtown Reach. Coming from a city surrounded by water, I like being able to take a walk through the Museum Reach and unwind riverside. This section of the river, between Downtown and Pearl, is home to many works of public art and mosaics. My favorite installation is definitely F.I.S.H., near the San Antonio Museum of Art.

One of my favorite places along the river to visit is Pearl. Home to some of San Antonio’s top culinary chefs, fun stores, and the lawn which is typically populated with picnickers and music.

The river and Pearl always make me feel like I’m living in one of the coolest communities in the country. San Antonio is a big city with lots of big city restaurants and bars, but it’s also a small community of people who care about each other. There aren’t too many cities where you can dine at a top restaurant, and then sit out and drink on a lawn while listening to music and make some new friends. But, luckily for us, that is every afternoon in San Antonio, and it will continue to be one of my favorite things about this city.
