Dyeing the River Green

Green River Blog
Do you know why St. Patrick’s Day is associated with green? While it is not its original color, people wear green on St. Patrick’s Day because of Ireland’s nickname – The Emerald Isle. Every year since 1968, you get to see people wearing green on St. Patrick’s Day, and the River Walk magically transforms into a green-colored River Shannon. You can witness the transformation take place (with an eco-friendly green dye of course) on March 17th and 19th. Admission is free and open to the public.
