Gear Up for the San Antonio Film Festival

The San Antonio Film Festival seeks to deliver new and original films for almost a week of fun. Film festival activities will not only include panels from popular film industry leaders but a chance for new and aspiring filmmakers and fans to network with them as well.

Although many workshops and panels are free, attendees will need to buy film tickets to see specific movies. Tickets range in price, but there is something for everyone. There are short film blocks for High School, Latino night, Horror, Black voices, and more.

For movie buffs that want more of an exclusive and immersive experience, you can purchase a VIP Festival Badge, which grants you all access to any screening throughout the entirety of the festival. One-day passes are also available, giving you access to all film screenings on that particular day of choice. Film festival laurels and a free downloadable poster can be found on the website.

If you are visiting San Antonio, the SA Film Festival is conveniently located near The Thompson San Antonio Riverwalk, the St. Anthony Hotel, and other landmark hotels.

Movies to Watch with A Mission

The San Antonio Film Festival is also a 501(c)3, serving an inclusive and highly accessible platform for new artists that brings a wide range of films across genres to a diverse audience. The films selected for The San Antonio Film Festival are not only of cinematic merit but are also chosen because of the diversity of subject matter.

Film Festival Movies You Can Expect To See

Festival directors bring a remarkable collection of stories from around the world to celebrate film in all formats. Notable festival films include dramas such as Verona, a modern retelling of Romeo and Juliet featuring love on a border farm, or Black Jade, the story of immigrant couple Raymond and Jade who travel to Los Angeles for a fresh start, only to find old wounds reopened and resentment abound.

For documentary fans, there are pieces like Backstreet to the American Dream, a bilingual film that explores the American Dran in present-day life, or Deep in the Heart of Texas, a visual celebration of what makes Texas unique. There are also films for the whole family, such as Opal, an animated feature set in the Afro-Caribbean culture, or comedies like Holidays at All Cost, in which a father works a series of odd and sometimes hilarious jobs in order to stay at the resort for their family vacation.
