Like the lively festivals that spill into the streets and spring wildflowers that burst into color along highways, the Valero Texas Open is a San Antonio tradition.
And 2012 is the tournament's 90th year! Begun in 1922, the Valero Texas Open is the country’s third-oldest PGA TOUR golf tournament. It is an important charitable event too, raising more than $50 million over the decades.
The 2012 Valero Texas Open plays out at the PGA TOUR course at the heralded JW Marriott San Antonio Hill Country Resort & Spa, the city’s premier resort opened in 2010.

Designed by two of golf’s most respected architects and World Golf Hall of Fame members Greg Norman and Pete Dye, the PGA TOUR courses are set amid rolling hills next to a nature preserve.
If you want to play golf and not just watch, San Antonio has more than 40 courses, ranging from championship greens to historic courses.
