Jesse Treviño: Mi Vida is a major retrospective examining the career of nationally recognized artist Jesse Treviño, a seminal figure in the Chicano art movement. Renowned for its emotion, Treviño’s work focuses on his personal and ethnic identity; incorporating a unique iconography that includes local landmarks and community. Jesse Treviño: Mi Vida will be comprised of approximately 50 paintings, including two works from the collection of the Smithsonian American Art Museum, 20 works on paper, as well as ephemera documenting Treviño’s life.
