Every day there’s something bright, bold, and beautiful going on in San Antonio. Here is just a sample.
San Antonio’s historic attractions are what give this city its distinctive character. The Alamo was built first, but the four other Spanish missions on the Mission Trail are an equally rich part of the city’s history and culture. The River Walk, with its lush gardens, patios and cobblestone walkways one level down from the street, make it both a peaceful paseo and an ideal place for an outing. Near the River Walk is La Villita, one of San Antonio’s original settlements now lined with galleries, boutiques and cafes, and Market Square, the largest Mexican market north of the Rio Grande.
SeaWorld San Antonio, Six Flags Fiesta Texas and the Tower of Americas are also ideal for a day of fun. San Antonio’s museums are world class, including the Museo Alameda, a Smithsonian affiliate, the San Antonio Museum of Art, the McNay Art Museum, the Witte Museum and the University of Texas at San Antonio’s Institute of Texan Cultures. An abundance of golf courses, art galleries, boutiques and performing arts will keep you busy, as well as day trips to Texas Hill Country towns such as Boerne, New Braunfels, Fredericksburg and Bandera.
