San Antonio, home to the Alamo, the World Champion San Antonio Spurs and the River Walk, hosts a vibrant mix of culture, cuisine, architecture, moving history and patriotism – not to mention diverse languages and music. They city’s heritage and traditions are rich, as are its modern pleasures. San Antonio is a cosmopolitan blend of remarkable dining and nightlife options. In addition, art galleries, spas and shopping dot the pedestrian cityscape along the River Walk. San Antonio, one of America’s friendliest cities, truly captures the spirit of Texas.

Day 1

Riverwalk photo 1.jpgExplore the River Walk – The heart of San Antonio is the River Walk – a network of cobblestone pathways, gardens and patios that follows the river for more than two miles through the city’s center. One level down from the street, this lush oasis buzzes gently with activity as people stroll and dine at the river’s edge. Visitors can enjoy a morning river boat tour, stroll the cobblestone pathways and stop in for lunch at one of the many alfresco cafés or restaurants.

San Antonio History – Relive history's unforgettable 13 days of glory as 189 Texan and Tejano defenders fight for Texas Independence. IMAX puts you in the middle of this historic action with its six-story screen and six-track stereo sound. You can relive the history with the cry “Remember the Alamo!” at the Imax Theatre  and while walking through the monument’s cool stone interior, or through the four other sacvb1268.jpghistoric Spanish missions on San Antonio Missions National Historic Park’s Mission Trail. La Villita is one of San Antonio’s original settlements now lined with galleries, boutiques and cafés. A few blocks away, Market Square, the largest Mexican market north of the Rio Grande, flashes with the color and activity of a traditional Mexican Mercado.  A new addition to this area is the Museo Alameda--  the first formal affiliate of the Smithsonian Institution.   Hear the stories of the Latino experience in America through art, history and culture. Market Square is also home to Mi Tierra Restaurant.  This locally owned family restaurant, is open 24 hours a day serving up margaritas, traditional Tex–Mex food and freshly-baked pastries.

Day 2  

After a day of being immersed into San Antonio history and culture, your student youth group will be ready to take in a day of fun at one of our theme parks.

Six Flags Fiesta  TexasSix Flags Fiesta Texas-- Enjoy some of the fastest, wildest rides in the country as well as outstanding entertainment.

Goliath, the ultimate inverted coaster, debuted in Spring 2008! Once aboard, the bottom drops out as you race at speeds of 50 mph with nothing beneath your feet but earth and sky.

*Climb 10 stories before literally flying up and over a heart-pounding vertical loop

*Feel the sensation of weightlessness as you race through a zero-gravity heartline spin

*Fly head-over-heels through five inversions, including seven-story loops and two corkscrews

SeaWorld San Antonio-- Experience the fun at SeaWorld San Antonio and have fun on Shamu at SeaWorld San Antonioall the new adventures.

Journey to Atlantis--Take the plunge! Journey to Atlantis is NOW OPEN. The first of its kind in the USA, it’s part roller coaster, part water ride. Start your journey by boarding a 16 passenger boat and climbing the 100-foot-high lift into a turntable which rotates you backward. Take a moment to enjoy the panoramic view of San Antonio. Then take a backward dive through a reverse camel back and into the second turntable. One more spin and then take a final plunge at 49 miles per hour through a wall of water.
